Grid Services for HSM Systems Monitoring
2008As HSM systems are commonly used in data intensive grids to economically store huge amounts of data a need for monitoring them arises. This paper describes an approach to create a common model for describing the state of an HSM system. An implementation of a grid service for HSM monitoring and test results are presented.

Hiding HSM systems from the user

No.99CB37098), 2003File life-times longer than the life-time of HSM-systems make it necessary to move files from one HSM-system to another. Such a migration takes a long time and cannot be hidden from the user unless an additional layer of software is put in between. RZG is using MR-AFS as such a layer. The features of MR-AFS are presented once again.

Design and Performance Assessment of a HSM Tool Holder
2005High Speed Milling is demanding more and more accuracy of the tool rotation axis and overall tool holder performances. In this paper the design and performance assessment of a thermal shrink fit tool holder is described. The holder is monolithic to improve the stiffness and reduce the tool rotation axis error.
