Flumatinib plus venetoclax as an effective therapy for Philadelphia chromosome‐positive acute myeloid leukemia: A case report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 11, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Philadelphia chromosome‐positive acute myeloid leukemia (Ph + AML) is a rare type of AML with a low survival rate and poor prognosis. We first report a Ph + AML patient who remained in long‐term remission after the combination of flumatinib and venetoclax, which could provide corresponding treatment ideas for clinical practice.

Mucinous adenocarcinoma arising in congenital pulmonary airway malformation: clinicopathological analysis of 37 cases

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 78, Issue 3, Page 434-444, February 2021., 2021
Aims Mucinous adenocarcinoma arising in congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM) is a rare complication, with little being known about its natural course. The aims of this article are to describe a series of mucinous adenocarcinomas arising from CPAMs, and present their clinicopathological features, genetics, and clinical outcome.

Scleraxis genes are required for normal musculoskeletal development and for rib growth and mineralization in zebrafish

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 33, Issue 8, Page 9116-9130, August 2019., 2019
ABSTRACT Tendons are an essential part of the musculoskeletal system, connecting muscle and skeletal elements to enable force generation. The transcription factor scleraxis marks vertebrate tendons from early specification. Scleraxis‐null mice are viable and have a range of tendon and bone defects in the trunk and limbs but no described cranial ...

Microfluidics as a Powerful Tool to Investigate Microvascular Dysfunction in Trauma Conditions: A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2024.
Microvascular dysfunction is a major driver of many pathologies including acute compartment syndrome (ACS) which is an emergency condition with poor diagnosis. This review elaborates on the potential of microfluidic organ‐on‐chip models to investigate various microvascular dysfunction mechanisms toward improving the diagnosis and therapy of ACS.

A new tool for setting biodiversity management priorities adapted from aquatic invasive species management: A pilot using Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in NS, Canada

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 5, Issue 2, April/June 2024.
We adapted the species‐sites‐pathways concept to develop an integrated management approach to aquatic invasive species (AIS) and Atlantic salmon management in Nova Scotia, Canada. We adapted and created novel tools to determine (1) AIS impacts on Atlantic salmon and management action that could lessen their impacts, (2) sites of high conservation value
