Jerusalem artichoke and chungkookjang additively improve insulin secretion and sensitivity in diabetic rats

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2012
Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus Linne, HTL) and chungkookjang (CKJ; fermented soybeans) both modulate energy and glucose metabolism. However, the mechanism and their additive effects are unknown.

Spatiotemporal sensitivity of mesoderm specification to FGFR signalling in the Drosophila embryo

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Development of the Drosophila embryonic mesoderm is controlled through both internal and external inputs to the mesoderm. One such factor is Heartless (Htl), a Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor (FGFR) expressed in the mesoderm.

Automatic Classification of Histopathology Images across Multiple Cancers Based on Heterogeneous Transfer Learning

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
Background: Current artificial intelligence (AI) in histopathology typically specializes on a single task, resulting in a heavy workload of collecting and labeling a sufficient number of images for each type of cancer.

HTL Perturbation Theory to Two Loops

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2002
We calculate the pressure for pure-glue QCD at high temperature to two-loop order using hard-thermal-loop (HTL) perturbation theory. At this order, all the ultraviolet divergences can be absorbed into renormalizations of the vacuum energy density and the HTL mass parameter. We determine the HTL mass parameter by a variational prescription.

Influence of an Additional P3HT Layer on the Performance of P3HT: IC60BA Polymer Solar Cell

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
A simulation study utilizing SCAPS 1-D software was conducted to explore the effects of an additional P3HT (Poly 3-hexylthiophene) layer on the performance of bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells, specifically with the active layer P3HT: IC60BA.

Valorisation of hydrothermal liquefaction wastewater in agriculture: effects on tobacco plants and rhizosphere microbiota

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2023
Industrial wastewater obtained from hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL-WW) of food wastes for biofuels production could represent a source of crop nutrients since it is characterized by a high amount of organic and inorganic compounds.
