Impact of tear morphology and meniscal laterality on repair failure in stable knees: Medial repairs show over twofold risk

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the failure rates of all‐inside meniscal repair based on tear morphology in stable knees (i.e., without concomitant anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction [ACLR]) and to assess the influence of failure. Methods This retrospective cohort study included 1008 patients who underwent arthroscopic all‐inside meniscal repair ...

Similar revision rates after ACL reconstruction with hamstring tendon or bone–patellar tendon–bone autografts in young females: Results from the Swedish knee ligament registry

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare subjective knee function and revision rates at the 5‐year follow‐up in young females (14–25 years) undergoing primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) with either hamstring tendon (HT) or bone–patellar tendon–bone (BPTB) autografts in a nationwide registry‐based cohort.

Estimating Soil Compaction Risk at Regional Scales Using Meteorological Data and Soil Spectroscopy

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil compaction is a significant form of soil degradation in Europe, reducing agricultural productivity, limiting carbon sequestration and increasing greenhouse gases emissions. In response, the forthcoming European Union Soil Monitoring and Resilience Law requires spatial assessment of topsoil and subsoil compaction risk at district, that is,

Tell me where you flow and I will tell you who you are: basin context shapes the insect fauna of small tributaries

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
The traditional view of river basins as linear corridors has led to numerous studies examining the effects of stream size on aquatic communities. However, similar‐sized streams may harbor distinct faunal assemblages depending on their spatial context within the basin. Headwater tributaries (HTs) that flow into small streams, in the periphery of basins,

Superconducting transformers

open access: yes, 2013
The advent of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) materials has renewed interest in the possibilities for superconducting power apparatus offering real economic benefit, within power ratings typical of present system practice.

Diverse reactivity of maleimides in polymer science and beyond

open access: yesPolymer International, Volume 74, Issue 4, Page 296-306, April 2025.
This mini‐review provides a thorough overview of maleimide chemistry, highlighting its diverse reactivity in polymer and materials science applications. Abstract Maleimides are remarkably versatile functional groups, capable of participating in homo‐ and copolymerizations, Diels–Alder and (photo)cycloadditions, Michael additions, and other reactions ...

Vigs invisier: ’n teologies-etiese besínning

open access: yesKoers : Bulletin for Christian Scholarship, 1991
In this article the characteristics of Aids are touched upon and then the (rather difficult) question whether Aids should be seen as God’s judgement over the sin (immorality) of man is discussed.

A Unified and Automatic Approach Of Mandarin HTS System

open access: yes, 2010
Most studies on Mandarin HTS (HMM-based text-to-speech system) have taken the initial/final as the basic acoustic units. It is, however, challenging to develop a multilingual HTS in a uniformed and consistent way since most of other languages use the

Identifying Suitable Front Contacts for High‐Efficiency Cd(Se,Te) Solar Cells on Space‐Qualified Cover Glass

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, EarlyView.
Front contact selection governs interfacial stability in CdTe‐based (Cd(Se,Te)) solar cells on ultra‐thin space‐qualified cover glass. Optimized TCO/emitter combinations suppress interdiffusion and deliver up to 16.2% AM0 efficiency with high specific power, demonstrating strong potential for lightweight space photovoltaics.
