Male alternative reproductive tactics are widespread, often involving distinct morphs influenced by genetics or the environment. This study confirms two male morphs in the bush cricket Satizabalus jorgevargasi—larger, more colourful majors and smaller, duller minors—and tests how diet affects their development.

Linear Plasmids in Micrococcus: Insights Into a Common Ancestor and Transfer by Conjugation
Comparative analysis indicates a common ancestor for linear plasmids in Micrococcus strains from Andean Puna, suggesting that horizontal gene transfer helps native microbes survive extreme conditions. The successful transfer of pLMA1 by conjugation also shows its potential as a genetic vector.
