An Experimental and Educational Framework for Nonenzymatic Polyphenol Conversion: Bridging Molecular Food Science and Materials Technology through Organic Chemistry

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Gallic acid serves as an ideal bridge between fundamental sciences and gastronomy, as its presence as a plant polyphenol moiety. Its symmetrical, multifunctional phenolic structure makes it a perfect educational building block for linking organic chemistry both to food science and material design.

Self‐Assembled Luminescent Au(I)–Adamantylamine Coordination Polymer Needles With Thermoresponsive Optical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled hydrophobic and red phosphorescent Au(I) coordination polymer (CP) was synthesized under mild conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) demonstrated linear Au(I) chains stabilized by aurophilic and hydrogen bonding interactions.

Enhancing Stability of Metallic Magnesium Nanoparticles toward Oxidation in Water via PEG‐Phosphonate Passivation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Metallic magnesium nanoparticles are stabilized against rapid oxidation in water through surface passivation with phosphonic acid–terminated poly(ethylene glycol). By controlling the timing of ligand addition during synthesis, nanoparticle growth, morphology, and aqueous lifetime are tuned, extending stability from minutes to hours while preserving ...

Amine‐Triggered Azabenz‐Annulation of Cyclic Secondary Amine‐Functionalized Perylene Diimides for Dual‐Mode Sensing

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Pictet‐Spengler Intermediate of a cyclic secondary amine perylene diimide undergoing amine‐triggered conversion to azabenz‐annulated perylene diimide, inducing a high‐contrast green‐to‐yellow color change along with fluorescence turn‐on, demonstrating intuitive “safe” to “warning” dual‐mode sensing.
