Cryptanalysis of an MPEG-Video Encryption Scheme Based on Secret Huffman Tables [PDF]
This paper studies the security of a recently-proposed MPEG-video encryption scheme based on secret Huffman tables. Our cryptanalysis shows that: 1) the key space of the encryption scheme is not sufficiently large against divide-and-conquer (DAC) attack ...

Holocene sea‐level and environmental changes on the Isle of Mull, Scotland
ABSTRACT Sea‐level and coastal changes are reconstructed on the Isle of Mull, western Scotland, from 10 988 to 10 507 cal BP to the present. This research has produced the first SLIP for the Isle of Mull. A multiproxy approach including pollen, spore, foraminifera and diatom analyses reveals palaeoenvironmental changes from two coastal sites.

An Efficient and Fast VLIW Compression Scheme for Stream Processor
Stream processor has been widely used in multimedia processing because of the high performance gained by parallelism. In order to achieve higher parallelism, the stream processor employs large width structure of VLIW (very long instruction word, VLIW ...

Research and Implementation of 12-bit Image Compression Based on M Coder [PDF]
In order to further improve the compression ratio of 12-bit static image,a static image compression scheme based on M encoder is presented. On the basis of JPEG standard coding framework, the 12-bit gray image quantization table is added in this ...

The role of soil moisture in the inland penetration of Indian monsoon low‐pressure systems
We use the Advanced Weather Research and Forecasting model to examine the role of soil moisture in the inland penetration of Indian monsoon low‐pressure systems (LPSs). We find that LPSs penetrate deeply into India despite a dry land surface; however, their inland penetration is adversely affected when there is a reduction in the total surface heat ...

Source Coding for Quasiarithmetic Penalties
Huffman coding finds a prefix code that minimizes mean codeword length for a given probability distribution over a finite number of items. Campbell generalized the Huffman problem to a family of problems in which the goal is to minimize not mean codeword

Thermodynamic and microphysical properties of summertime marine fog observed from Sable Island
Atmospheric profiling and near‐surface fog and visibility measurements revealed synoptic‐scale forcing as the dominant factor in fog formation over Sable Island, with deep fog layers under low‐pressure systems and shallow fog layers under high‐pressure systems.

Abstract Data is the key element that runs the modern society. Large amounts of data are being released day by day as a result of many activities. The digital data is transferred through the Internet which may be vulnerable to attacks while transmitting. Especially, the medical data is observed to be of at most importance.

A Low-Complexity Lossless Compression Method Based on a Code Table for Infrared Images
Traditional JPEG series image compression algorithms have limitations in speed. To improve the storage and transmission of 14-bit/pixel images acquired by infrared line-scan detectors, a novel method is introduced for achieving high-speed and highly ...
