Abstract The Tvären structure in southeastern Sweden has been listed as a confirmed marine‐target impact structure for decades. However, to date, no measurements and/or indexed data of planar deformation features in quartz grains from the structure have been published or any other unequivocal evidence of impact.

Efficient coding of information: Huffman coding [PDF]
In his classic paper of 1948, Claude Shannon considered the problem of efficiently describing a source that outputs a sequence of symbols, each associated with a probability of occurrence, and provided the theoretical limits of achievable performance. In 1951, David Huffman presented a technique that attains this performance.

Abstract Background This scoping review explores the impact of coaching on the professional identity formation (PIF) of postgraduate medical trainees. Although coaching is well‐documented in undergraduate medical education, its role in postgraduate medical education (PME) remains underexplored.

An implementation of Deflate in Coq
The widely-used compression format "Deflate" is defined in RFC 1951 and is based on prefix-free codings and backreferences. There are unclear points about the way these codings are specified, and several sources for confusion in the standard. We tried to

Equal Time, Unequal Labor Division: Adolescents' Domestic Labor Time During the COVID‐19 Pandemic
While existing research offers mixed evidence on how the COVID‐19 pandemic affected adults' division of housework, adolescents have remained largely overlooked in this regard. Using nationally representative data from the 2019–2021 American Time Use Survey and Current Population Survey, this study examines changes in adolescents' unpaid labor before ...

The Rényi Redundancy of Generalized Huffman Codes [PDF]
Huffman's algorithm gives optimal codes, as measured by average codeword length, and the redundancy can be measured as the difference between the average codeword length and Shannon's entropy.

Efficient Data Compression Scheme using Dynamic Huffman Code Applied on Arabic Language
The development of an efficient compression scheme to process the Arabic language represents a difficult task. This paper employs the dynamic Huffman coding on data compression with variable length bit coding, on the Arabic language.

ABSTRACT Flooding is one of the most devastating natural disasters worldwide. It is also expected to become more severe as climate change impacts are realised. Two‐dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic models are used to obtain reliable inundation estimations.

On Regular Quaternary Hadamard Matrices
ABSTRACT Through the use of regularizing vectors, all regular quaternary Hadamard matrices of orders 10 and 18 have been successfully identified. Of these, two matrices of order 10 and 184 matrices of order 18 were found to have unbiased mates. Converting the quaternary Hadamard matrices of order 18 to real Hadamard matrices, the study uncovered that ...
