Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

Solution‐processed OLEDs containing discotic liquid‐crystalline MR‐TADF emitters are reported. Supramolecular self‐assembly induces homeotropic columnar alignment, enforcing preferential horizontal orientation of the emitter transition dipole moment in spin‐coated films, which leads to an enhancement in the device light outcoupling efficiency while ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

Karelian bear dogs as a management tool to mitigate human-bear conflicts
Humans and bears have a long history of conflicts where the norm has been lethal management. Many wildlife managers sought alternative non-lethal approaches and since late 1990’s Karelian bear dogs (KBDs) have been used systematically by managers and biologists to mitigate human bear-conflicts (HBCs) as a management tool.
