Human action recognition with salient trajectories

Signal Processing, 2013
Recognizing human actions in video sequences is attracting much attention, and this paper aims to deal with the problem of action recognition with salient trajectories. First, two kinds of trajectory saliency values, appearance and motion saliency, are calculated and combined to capture complementary information.

Human action recognition on depth dataset

Neural Computing and Applications, 2015
Human action recognition is a hot research topic; however, the change in shapes, the high variability of appearances, dynamitic background, potential occlusions in different actions and the image limit of 2D sensor make it more difficult. To solve these problems, we pay more attention to the depth channel and the fusion of different features.

Convex Deficiencies for Human Action Recognition

Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 2011
A human action can be identified by visualizing the sequence of 2D binary projections over time. Here, one of the most representative features is shape and a wide range of algorithms have been proposed using its descriptors. This paper pro- poses convex deficiencies, the difference between an object and its convex hull, to be considered as a ...

Recognition of Human Action for Game System

2005
Using human action, playing a computer game can be more intuitive and interesting. In this paper, we present a game system that can be operated using a human action. For recognizing the human actions, the proposed system uses a Hidden Markov Model (HMM). To assess the validity of the proposed system we applied to a real game, Quake II. The experimental

Action recognition for human-marionette interaction

Proceedings of the 20th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2012
In this paper, we propose a human-marionette interaction system based on a human action recognition approach for applications to interactive artistic puppetry and a mimicking-marionette game. We developed an intelligent marionette called "i-marionette" that is controlled by a sophisticated control device to achieve various human actions.

Study on Human Body Action Recognition

2018
A novel human body action recognition method based on Kinect is proposed. Firstly, the key frame of the original data is extracted by using the key frame extraction technology based on quaternion. Secondly, the moving pose feature based on the motion information of each joint point is constituted for the skeleton information of each key frame.
