Modeling the Human Body on Microfluidic Chips

Trends in Biotechnology, 2021
Animals often fail to faithfully mimic human diseases and drug toxicities, and most in vitro models are not complex enough to recapitulate human body function and pathophysiology. Organ-on-chip culture technology, however, offers a promising tool for the study of tissue development and homeostasis, which has brought us one step closer to performing ...

Human Body Modeling

2011
This chapter is devoted to the development and usage of digital human models. Digital human models have been used to simulate human postures and motions with the aim to predict realistic human postures and motion trajectories in given industrial working scenarios.

Human Body Models: Boss-Models

2012
The generating process of the human body Boss-Models and their in vivo material properties are presented. After introducing the basic morphological, physiological, biological and mechanical properties of human soft tissue (Sect. 5.1), the mechanical characterization of human soft tissue is discussed in detail using the example of human gluteal tissue ...

CHUB: A CARTOGRAPHIC HUMAN BODY MODEL

2007
There are several ways of analyzing and modeling the human body and its associated morphological and physiological data. Most of the models, used to analyze, to process and to visualize these data, do not take into account the strong spatial interdependency inherent to human body’s functioning.

Learning Generic Human Body Models

2010
We describe a posture estimation system based on Organic Computing concepts, which learns a generic body model from video input in a self-governed manner. We show experimentally that the constructed model generalizes well to different attire and persons.

Generic-Model Based Human-Body Modeling

2005
This paper presents a generic-model based human-body modeling method which take the anatomical structure of the human body into account. The generic model contains anatomical structure of bones and muscles of the human body. For a given target skin mesh, the generic model can be scaled according to the skin, and then morphed to be fitted to the shape ...

Automatic 3D Human Body Modelling

2017
Objective 3-layers adaptive system that detects, extracts, analyzes and models human bodies existed in video stream, it uses different detection methods in parallel and evaluates each detection result according to correctness measurements, and controls method’s work and priorities according to dynamic parameters; these parameters are updated ...

Model-based human body tracking

Object recognition supported by user interaction for service robots, 2003
Visual tracking of human body movement is a key technology in a number of areas. We present a 2-D model-based method of human body tracking from a monocular video sequence. Morris and Rehg (1998) put forward a 2-D scaled prismatic model for figure registration which has far fewer singularity problems than 3-D models.

Human Body Models

2016
Experimental studies with human subjects, volunteers or post mortem human subjects (PMHS)help us understand the biomechanics of the impact during a traffic crash. Anthropometric crash test dummies (ATDs) were developed to provide tools for the development and assessment of safety systems to address the variation in human anthropometry.

Digital Elderly Human Body Modeling

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2009
<div class="htmlview paragraph">An anatomically detailed elderly human body model is under development. Using the anthropometric database of domestic nation-wide size survey, SizeKorea, a standard size and shape of 50th %tile elderly was constructed. Through the local recruitment process, a male volunteer with 71 years of age, 163cm of height and
