Ethanol-induced disturbance in human arousal mechanism

Psychopharmacology, 1981
The effects of intravenous ethanol on EEG were analyzed in 11 healthy subjects. During the rapid infusion phase the breath alcohol concentration (BRAC) was raised in 1 h to about 1 mg/ml and kept at this level for 90 min by adjusting the infusion rate.

Human disturbance of cetaceans

1996
As our coastal seas become used increasingly for commercial, industrial and recreational purposes, whales and dolphins face threats not only directly from physical damage by vessels but also indirectly from the sound disturbance that vessels may cause.

Predation and human disturbance

1995
Abstract Consumers may themselves be attacked and eaten by predators. Not only may this reduce the numbers of consumers but it may also cause them to change their choice of patches which may have consequences for the size of a population that could be sustained in a site.

Human Eye Response to Thermal Disturbances

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2010
Human eye is one of the most sensitive parts of the body when exposed to a thermal heat flux. Since there is no barrier (such as skin) to protect the eye against the absorption of an external thermal wave, the external flux can readily interact with cornea. The modeling of heat transport through the human eye has been the subject of interest for years,

Human Disturbances and Tree Selection Behaviour

2019
Natural disturbances and disturbances caused by humans are common and frequent features in forest ecosystems and there are also interactions between these two types of disturbances. Some specialised ecosystems even owe their existence and structure to the regular occurrence of disturbances.

Disturbance of morphological laterality in humans.

Ciba Foundation symposium, 1992
Complete situs inversus is well described in humans and may be associated with defective cilia in Kartagener's syndrome, an autosomal recessive trait. Only half of homozygotes display situs inversus, presumably due to 'chance'. Isomerism sequence or Ivemark syndrome involves major disturbances of organ formation, the patterns of which suggest such ...
