Bladder Exstrophy. Primary Reconstruction with Human Dura Mater
British Journal of Urology, 1981SUMMARY— A new surgical technique for primary reconstruction of bladder exstrophy is described. Human cranial dura mater is used as an alloplastic free graft to replace the missing anterior bladder wall. The technique has been successfully applied to 8 patients and the early achievement of good bladder capacity ...

Biomechanical characterization of human dura mater
Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2018A reliable computational model of the human head is necessary for better understanding of the physical mechanisms of traumatic brain injury (TBI), car-crash investigation, development of protective head gear and advancement of dural replacement materials.

Dopamine Receptors in the Human Dura Mater
Neurochemical Research, 2004Dopamine receptors (Dar) were studied as a component of the nervous dopaminergic system in the human dura mater. Dar were stained in several dural zones (vascular, perivascular, intervascular) in different regions (basal, calvarial, tentorial, occipital, frontal, parietal, temporal) of the cranial meninges.

Optical clearing of human dura mater
Optics and Spectroscopy, 2005The changes in the optical parameters of the human dura mater in the spectral range 400–700 nm caused by the action of an aqueous solution of mannitol with a concentration of 0.16 g/ml are studied in vitro. The diffusion of mannitol into the tissue leads to a partial matching between the refractive indices of the structure-forming elements (the ...

Dynamic load response of human dura mater at different velocities
Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2023Despite of its assumed role to mitigate brain tissue response under dynamic loading conditions, the human dura mater is frequently neglected in computational and physical human head models. A reason for this is the lack of load-deformation data when the dura mater is loaded dynamically.

Anatomic and Biomechanical Properties of Human Lumbar Dura Mater
Anesthesia & Analgesia, 1993Determinants of dural defects subsequent to deliberate or accidental dural puncture include the equipment, techniques, and the inherent anatomic and biomechanical properties of dura mater. These properties were studied in specimens of human and canine lumbar dura mater in an attempt to delineate the structure of the tissue and to characterize its ...

Local Mechanical Anisotropy in Human Cranial Dura Mater Allografts
Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, 1998Human cranial dura mater (CDM) allograft’s success as a repair biomaterial is partly due to its high mechanical strength, which facilitates its ability to form water-tight barriers and resist high in-vivo mechanical loads. Previous studies on CDM allograft mechanical behavior used large test specimens and concluded that the allograft was mechanically ...

Reconstruction of orbital fractures with dehydrated human dura mater
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2000The best method for reconstructing the fractured orbital floor remains controversial. This article evaluates the usefulness of dehydrated human dura mater for orbital floor reconstruction after facial trauma.A retrospective analysis of 55 patients who had undergone surgical repair of orbital fractures was performed.

EXPERIENCE WITH LYOPHILIZED HUMAN DURA MATER FOR URETHRAL STRICTURES
The Journal of Urology, 1998We report our results using lyophilized human dura mater for urethral strictures. The results of 131 urethroplasties using lyophilized human dura mater grafts were reviewed. The etiology of the stricture was unknown in most cases and 44.3% had not been previously treated. Mean stricture length was 10 cm.
