Human herpes virus type 8 seroprevalence in pregnant women in Geneva, Switzerland
The Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine, 2010Because of increasing migration, European countries are facing new pathogens and diseases, such as human herpes virus-8 (HHV-8). Absence of human herpes virus 8 in semen from healthy Danish donors
Human Reproduction, 1999Epidemiological data indicate a sexual route of transmission of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) associated Kaposi's sarcoma. Recently human herpes virus 8 (HHV-8) has been proposed as the aetiological agent for development of Kaposi's sarcoma. Further the virus has been reported in semen obtained from healthy men.

Abstract Human herpes virus 8 (HHV8) DNA has recently been detected in sarcoma tissue of patients with Kaposi's sarcoma. HHV8 DNA could also be found in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid of patients with tracheobronchial Kaposi's sarcoma. To determine the specificity, sensitivity and predictive values of HHV8 DNA detection in the BAL
