Investigating the mechanisms of capsicum in age‐related hearing loss: Based on network pharmacology
Abstract Background To explore the material basis and action mechanism of the chemical component gene of pepper on presbycusis, and to provide a reference for the traditional Chinese medicine treatment of age‐related hearing loss (ARHL). Methods The chemical composition and action targets of traditional Chinese medicine flavor of pepper were searched ...

Current Progress in Targeting Human Cytomegalovirus Infection
This review highlights recent advances in the mechanisms by which human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) maintains its genome in infected cells, as well as the cellular factors and viral antigens that modulate viral reactivation, which reveal potential targets for addressing HCMV infection.

Atomic structures and deletion mutant reveal different capsid-binding patterns and functional significance of tegument protein pp150 in murine and human cytomegaloviruses with implications for therapeutic development. [PDF]
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection causes birth defects and life-threatening complications in immunosuppressed patients. Lack of vaccine and need for more effective drugs have driven widespread ongoing therapeutic development efforts against human CMV (HCMV)

Clinical Significance of Plasma and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell EBV‐DNA in Lymphoma
Both plasma and PBMC EBV‐DNA can be used to evaluate the prognosis of lymphoma patients. However, plasma EBV‐DNA excels in efficacy monitoring while PBMC EBV‐DNA offers superior prognostic value. Therefore, appropriate sample type could be selected based on clinical scenario.

γ-Herpesvirus load as surrogate marker of early death in HIV-1 lymphoma patients submitted to high dose chemotherapy and autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. [PDF]
Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is a feasible procedure for human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) lymphoma patients, whose underlying disease and intrinsic HIV-1- and ASCT-associated immunodeficiency might increase the risk for γ-herpesvirus

Clinical progress note: Varicella Zoster
Abstract Varicella Zoster virus (VZV) is the etiologic agent responsible for varicella and herpes zoster (shingles). Nonimmune children and adults acutely infected with VZV typically experience a vesicular and pruritic rash that progresses from the face and trunk and generalizes to the extremities, accompanied by an oral enanthem along with symptoms of
