Identification of Humans Using Gait

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2004
We propose a view-based approach to recognize humans from their gait. Two different image features have been considered: the width of the outer contour of the binarized silhouette of the walking person and the entire binary silhouette itself. To obtain the observation vector from the image features, we employ two different methods. In the first method,

Human identification from human movements

2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2009
In this paper a multi-modal method for human identification that exploits the discrimination power of several movement types performed from the same human is proposed. Utilizing a fuzzy vector quantization (FVQ) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) based algorithm, an unknown movement is first classified, and, then, the person performing the movement

Identification of human salivary transglutaminases

Amino Acids, 2011
Transglutaminases (TGs) expression and enzymatic activities in human saliva were investigated. Specific antibodies showed the co-existence of TG1, TG2, TG3 and TG4. TG2 and TG3 were found in native and multiple proteolytic forms. Our data indicate that TG1 and TG2 isoenzymes are highly active with the major activity attributed to TG1.

Human Identification Using Finger Images

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2012
This paper presents a new approach to improve the performance of finger-vein identification systems presented in the literature. The proposed system simultaneously acquires the finger-vein and low-resolution fingerprint images and combines these two evidences using a novel score-level combination strategy. We examine the previously proposed finger-vein

Identification of new human coronaviruses

Expert Review of Anti-infective Therapy, 2007
To date, there are still a variety of human infections with unknown etiology. Identification of previously unrecognized viral agents in patient samples is of great medical interest but remains a major technical challenge. Acute respiratory tract infections are responsible for considerable morbidity and mortality in humans and animals.

Identification of Human Orbital Lymphatics

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1999
To identify lymphatic vessels in the human orbit.Lymphatic and blood capillaries were distinguished histochemically by light microscopy using a 5'-nucleotidase (5'-Nase) and alkaline phosphatase (ALPase) double staining method. Identification of lymphatic vessels was based on strict morphologic criteria combined with specific 5'-Nase staining. The ...

Human Skeletal Identification

International Journal of Comparative and Applied Criminal Justice, 1977
Depending upon the degree of completeness of skeletal remains certain kinds and amounts of information pertaining to personal identification can be obtained. Race, sex and age can be estimated with a high accuracy, provided that the cranium and some postcranial parts of anatomy are available.
