Robot-Human Interaction

Proceedings of the Companion of the 2017 ACM/IEEE International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction, 2017
This paper presents a novel reflection on interaction devices between human and robots. Robots are most currently seen as tools, extensions of the human body designed and meant to serve its needs. The development of artificial intelligence forces us to reconsider that paradigm, and to ask ourselves the question of who, during the human-machine dialogue,

Human-Humanoid Interaction: Overview

2017
The field of social robotics is burgeoning and driven by the idea that one day social robots will enter the home to take on a wide range of assistive roles; from household chores to caring for older people or our children. Many of these tasks will require that robots not only share the same spaces with people and work in their close proximity, but that

Mobile human-computer interaction

CHI '14 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2014
The objective of this course is to provide newcomers to Mobile Human-Computer Interaction (Mobile HCI) with an overview of the field. The course will introduce the five grand challenges of Mobile HCI that set this field apart from others and will discuss eight current Mobile HCI research areas that address those challenges.

WikiTalk human-robot interactions

Proceedings of the 15th ACM on International conference on multimodal interaction, 2013
The demo shows WikiTalk, a Wikipedia-based open-domain information access dialogue system implemented on a talking humanoid robot. The robot behaviour integrates speech, nodding, gesturing and face-tracking to support interaction management and the presentation of information to the partner.

Toward Human-Robot Interaction Design through Human-Human Interaction Experiment

2011
In this paper, we examined a possibility of assessing a human’s impression of a behavior of a robot through a human-human interaction (HHI), that enables us to design a robot’s behavior without actually implementing that behavior to the robot. Experiments were conducted for comparing users’ impressions of human-robot interaction (HRI) and HHI.

Human-Human Sensorimotor Interaction

2019
We investigated the role of sensory feedback in inter-personal interactions when two co-workers are working together. Twenty-five co-workers completed two isometric finger force production experiments. In Experiment 1, co-workers isometrically produced finger forces such that combined force will match a target force and/or torque under different visual

Contactless User‐Interactive Sensing Display for Human–Human and Human–Machine Interactions

Advanced Materials
AbstractCreating a large‐scale contactless user‐interactive sensing display (CUISD) with optimal features is challenging but crucial for efficient human–human or human–machine interactions. This study reports a CUISD based on dynamic alternating current electroluminescence (ACEL) that responds to humidity.

A Comparative Study between Human-Human Interaction and Human-Robot Interaction

2008
In this comparative study the concept of common ground is introduced for understanding the process of knowledge sharing by human and robot, and applied to “questioning and answering” task during object identification experiments. Various cases of human-human and human-robot interactions were performed and the interaction patterns among these groups ...
