Pasteurella haemolytica in Human Urine

Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2003
Pasteurella haemolytica was isolated from a human urine specimen. This unusual human pathogen showed a mucoid colony with a modest haemolysis and typical biochemical characteristics. API 20E and API 20NE identified the bacterium as Pasteurella spp. and P. haemolytica, respectively.

Human Growth Hormone in Urine

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1971
ABSTRACT Total immunoreactive human growth hormone (IR-HGH) was measured in one or more 24 hr urine samples collected from five normal, three acromegalic, and six hypopituitary (five before and one after treatment with HGH) patients. After concentration by polyionic membrane ultrafiltration, mean levels of total IR-HGH were 79, 35, and 254 ng per 24 hr

Testosterone in human urine

Steroids, 1964
Abstract A gas Chromatographic method for the evaluation of testosterone has been employed for the determination of this steroid in the urine from normal subjects and patients suffering from various endocrine diseases. For normal men 18–28 years of age, the testosterone titer was 171 μg (range 65–250); for men 30–35 years of age the value was 89 μg ...

3-Hydroxykynurenine in human urine

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1960
Abstract An investigation has been made into the determination of 3-hydroxykynurenine in urine. Urine was passed through an ion-exchange resin and 3-hydroxykynurenine determined in the 5N hydrochloric acid eluate by means of the molybdate-phosphate reaction.

Tryptophane Metabolites in Human Urine

Nature, 1953
I HAVE already reported1 that some human urine specimens made strongly alkaline yield distillates presenting spectroscopic and polarographic properties of o-aminoacetophenone. This was interpreted as indicating the presence of kynurenine in human urine, since (1) o-aminoacetophenone is not present in untreated urine, and (2) no substance other than ...

6β-Hydroxycorticosterone in human urine

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1964
Abstract Three normal subjects each received 100 mg. of corticosterone orally; one subject received simultaneously 14 μc of 1,2 3 H-corticosterone intravenously. In the urines for the 24 hours after administration, 6β-hydroxy-corticosterone (6β, 11β, 21-trihydroxy pregna 4-ene 3,20-dione) was isolated and identified in six chromatographic systems ...

Proteomics of Human Urine

2008
Urine is one of the most interesting and useful human body fluids for clinical proteomics studies because of its availability in almost all patients and ease of collection without any invasive or painful procedure. Proteomic analysis of human urine offers invaluable information not only for a better understanding of the normal renal physiology and ...
