Pterins in Human Urine

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
Abstract Qualitative and quantitative analyses for pterins (derivatives of 2-amino-4-hydroxypteridine) in human urine were carried out by an improved procedure which involved the use of two new weak ion exchangers, ECTEOLA-Sephadex and phospho-Sephadex.

A New Artificial Urine Protocol to Better Imitate Human Urine

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Artificial urine has many advantages over human urine for research and educational purposes. By closely mimicking healthy individuals’ urine, it may also be important in discovering novel biomarkers. However, up until now, there has not been any specific

Human urine proteomics: building a list of human urine cancer biomarkers

open access: yesExpert Review of Proteomics, 2011
In the last decade, several reports have focused on the identification and characterization of proteins present in urine. In an effort to build a list of proteins of interest as biomarkers, we reviewed the largest urine proteomes and built two updated lists of proteins of interest (available as supplementary tables).

Is Normal Human Urine Toxic?

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1946
ConclusionTolerance tests for urine on a surviving organ (frog heart), and on different species of laboratory animals as well as clinical findings in man prove that human urine is not toxic. The delayed fatal effects which follow the injection of certain urine specimens (7%) into animals are due to infections.
