A Gaussian Process Regression Framework for Enhancing Convergence in Power System State Estimation

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
1. This research introduces a hybrid state estimator that integrates Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) with the traditional Weighted Least Squares (WLS) method for power networks. 2. The method uses GPR to create virtual measurements, which significantly reduces iteration counts and accelerates computation time in benchmarks. 3.

From Yeast to Therapeutics: Modeling Neurodegenerative Diseases in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

open access: yesYeast, Volume 42, Issue 12, Page 283-302, December 2025.
Yeast plasmids expressing human Aβ‐42, α‐syn, htt, and TDP‐43. Their fate includes an equilibrium between the endocytic pathway and aggregates that potentially disrupt endocytosis, vesicular transport, vacuolar autophagy, and mitochondrial activity. ABSTRACT Here, we review the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a powerful model organism for studying ...

Amazonia's Cassava and Manioc Through Historical Times

open access: yesThe Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology, Volume 30, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This provocation calls readers to think more deeply about the role anthropology could play in radically disrupting plant blindness. Thanks to Environmental Humanities, the natural world is no longer apprehended as a mere backdrop to human activity.

Enhanced Electroactivity for Overall Water Splitting and Oxygen Potential of Pt/Carbon Nanotubes Functionalized with Cu Organometallic Complex

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
Functionalizing carbon nanotubes (CNT) with the mesitylcopper (Cu‐mes) complex modifies the surface of CNT, developing Cu‐Pt alloys and Cu‐species. The result is a modified Pt electronic structure that promotes the catalytic activity of the 5 wt% Pt/CNTCu‐mes nanocatalyst for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions, and oxygen reduction reaction.

Fuerza Feminista: Confronting Intersectional Data Violence by Archiving the Movement Against Antifeminicides in the Paso del Norte Region

open access: yesSexuality, Gender &Policy, Volume 8, Issue 4, November 2025.
ABSTRACT For over 30 years, the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua bordering Texas and New Mexico has experienced and witnessed multiple forms of violence across its rural and urban regions. Communities are besieged with cartel and gender‐based violence and the saturation of international corporations that pay less than livable wages for workers in ...

Border Women Literature and Feminist Cartographies: Student Approaches to Dataset and Visualization Development for Gender‐Based Violence Documentation

open access: yesSexuality, Gender &Policy, Volume 8, Issue 4, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Researching gender violence and transnational feminist movements fuels commitment to meaningful change. Drawing on Toni Morrison's 1998 call to refuse desensitization to violence, examining how three university students—Niloufar Esmaeili (PhD English), Jessica Corona (MA Spanish), and Jasbeth Medrano (Political Science undergraduate)—engaged ...

Assembling for Water: The Prefigurative Politics of Land Futures in Argentina

open access: yesAntipode, Volume 57, Issue 6, Page 2213-2240, November 2025.
Abstract As in other areas of Argentina, residents from the Norte Neuquino in the northwestern reaches of Patagonia are concerned about the recent advancements of extractivism onto their territories. Their analysis is clear: the environmental crisis is directly linked to a democratic one, and they engage in a wide range of actions to envision and enact

Evolutionary history of Middle American Rhamdia (Siluriformes: Heptapteridae) inferred from comparative mitogenomic data: Insights on historical biogeography and cave colonization in the group

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1501-1518, November 2025.
Investigating the systematics and biogeography of Neotropical catfishes of the genus Rhamdia refined phylogenetic hypotheses, including deep paraphyly of Rhamdia laticauda, supported northward dispersal catalyzed by emergence of the Panamanian Isthmus and imply that cave colonization is widespread, convergent, and recent, with established cave‐dwelling
