HET humanisme bestaat niet. Men zou kunnen zeggen dat er evenveel vormen van humanisme bestaan als er humanisten zijn. Er is namelijk geen humanistische kerk en geen humanistisch geloof. Er is ook geen centraal heilig boek en er zijn nauwelijks humanistische rituelen. Natuurlijk bestaat er wel zoiets als een ‘humanistische levensbeschouwing’.
