Moisture‐Adaptive Triboelectric Materials and Platforms: Design Strategies, Performance Enhancement, and Applications in Energy Harvesting and Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review summarizes moisture‐adaptive strategies that enable triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) to operate across diverse moisture conditions. It examines moisture‐management methods, including exclusion, directional transport, removal, and utilization, with charge‐regulation approaches based on interfacial, dielectric, and structural engineering.

Response surface methods for membrane humidifier performance

Journal of Power Sources, 2013
Abstract A designed experiment employing a response surface model was created to evaluate the performance of a passive, planar humidifier intended for the use in PEMFC applications. The performance of this humidifier was analyzed in terms of relative humidity and water transfer rate.

Analytical model of a membrane humidifier for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell systems

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2013
Abstract An analytical model for a membrane humidifier is developed for counter-current flow configuration at steady-state, which is applicable to plate-and-frame as well as shell-and-tube humidifiers. For the first time, the dependence of mass transfer on heat transfer is incorporated in the analytical model and analytical expressions are obtained ...

Nanocrack-regulated self-humidifying membranes

Nature, 2016
The regulation of water content in polymeric membranes is important in a number of applications, such as reverse electrodialysis and proton-exchange fuel-cell membranes. External thermal and water management systems add both mass and size to systems, and so intrinsic mechanisms of retaining water and maintaining ionic transport in such membranes are ...
