Inversion of Geomagnetic Anomalies Caused by Ore Masses Using Hunger Games Search Algorithm

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2023
AbstractGeomagnetic anomaly interpretation through inversion procedures often yields useful results in determining the key details of ore masses. However, the problem is complicated due to the known ambiguous phenomena of the inversion process. Thus, details such as location, depth and shape can only be estimated using an efficient algorithm.

A Novel Hybrid Hunger Games Search Algorithm With Differential Evolution for Improving the Behaviors of Non-Cooperative Animals [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Inspired by the behaviors of animals in the state of starvation, hunger games search algorithm (HGS) is proposed. HGS has shown competitive performance among other meta-heuristic (MH) algorithms. However, HGS tends to stagnate in local optimal for some complex optimization problems and remains premature convergence.

Dimensionality reduction approach based on modified hunger games search: case study on Parkinson’s disease phonation

open access: yesNeural Computing and Applications, 2023
AbstractHunger Games Search (HGS) is a newly developed swarm-based algorithm inspired by the cooperative behavior of animals and their hunting strategies to find prey. However, HGS has been observed to exhibit slow convergence and may struggle with unbalanced exploration and exploitation phases.

Kenyan Farmers' Policy Priorities During Economic Crisis and Stability: Insights From a Best‐Worst Scaling Experiment

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Amid rising food and fertilizer prices, understanding farmers' policy preferences is critical for effective crisis response. We use best‐worst scaling experiment to assess Kenyan mobile‐owning crop farmers' preferences for government support under high and normal price scenarios.

Retinal Vessel Segmentation: A Comprehensive Review From Classical Methods to Deep Learning Advances (1982–2025)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Four decades of retinal vessel segmentation research (1982–2025) are synthesized, spanning classical image processing, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms. A meta‐analysis of 428 studies establishes a unified taxonomy and highlights performance trends, generalization capabilities, and clinical relevance.

Accounting for animal health in efficiency analysis: An application to Swedish dairy farms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Poor animal health is a central concern in modern livestock production. Despite the necessity to incorporate animal health in efficiency analysis, the theoretical and empirical developments are limited on this subject. This article appropriately characterizes the axiomatic properties of animal health within a production framework.

Border harm and affective injustice: The politics of anger at the Melilla border, Spain

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines protests in a detention center in Melilla, Spain—a site where structural violence intersects with the everyday harms of confinement. Adopting a justice and dignity‐centered perspective, we analyze grassroots forms of resistance emerging at the border. The study focuses on the protests of Tunisian migrants and explores the

Short-term forecast of wind power based on the division of wind speed fluctuation characteristics

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
In order to solve the problem that the wind power is difficult to predict accurately due to the drastic change of wind speed, a short-term wind power prediction method based on the division of wind speed fluctuation characteristics is proposed.
