Reconstructing late Neolithic plant economies at the Eastern Adriatic site of Velištak (5th millennium cal BC)

open access: yesDocumenta Praehistorica, 2016
The archaeobotanical remains from Velištak are the first evidence of plant economies from an open-air settlement dating to the late Neolithic Hvar culture in Croatia (c. 4900–4000 cal BC). The results presented here are from the 2007–2013 field seasons.

Long‐term, range‐wide resightings of hundreds of colour‐marked individual Black‐tailed Godwits, from their first migration to adulthood show that individuals rarely change their non‐breeding regions. This has important implications for the conservation of migratory populations and shows that the factors influencing where juveniles settle will be key ...
