Dynamic Behaviour of Bubbles in Oil Under Electrothermal Ageing
ABSTRACT During long‐term operation of converter transformers, the internal oil–pressboard insulation undergoes irreversible degradation. Partial discharge in the weakened insulation will cause the formation of a large number of bubbles in the insulating oil.

Development of ± 550 kV DC GIS Basin Insulator
ABSTRACT The basin insulator is a core component of the insulation system for ± 550 kV gas‐insulated switchgear (GIS). This paper, using a finite element method for multi‐physics simulations of electric–thermal coupling, determines a geometry suitable for the industrial production of ± 550 kV GIS basin insulators.

ABSTRACT The problem of gas–solid interface charge accumulation is an important reason for distorting the surface electric field and then inducing surface discharge. The temperature gradient distribution formed on the spacer during the operation of a gas‐insulated transmission line (GIL) will aggravate the surface charge accumulation, further ...

Long‐term statistics of corona loss of HVDC transmission line
Corona loss is one of the electromagnetic environment parameters of high‐voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines. So far many countries have carried out researches and measurements on it. In 2008, UHVDC test lines were established in the National Engineering Laboratory for UHV Technology (Kunming) at the altitude about 2100 m.

ABSTRACT To effectively suppress transient overvoltages in HVDC systems, the design and experimental validation of a multi‐module series controllable arrester are presented. The voltage‐limiting performance, series voltage equalisation capability, and robustness under fault conditions in high‐voltage scenarios require further research.

ABSTRACT This paper provides an overview of high‐temperature superconducting (HTS) cables in DC systems, with a focus on their deployment in high‐voltage DC (HVDC) networks. The assessment of HTS cable properties—such as extremely low electrical resistance, high current‐carrying capacity and a compact geometry—and their comparison with those of ...

ABSTRACT To solve the ion‐flow field of ultrahigh‐voltage direct current (UHVDC) transmission lines under strong‐wind scenarios, the multiple relaxation time lattice Boltzmann method (MRT‐LBM) is adopted. Compared with previous ion‐flow studies predominantly based on the single relaxation time LBM, the MRT‐LBM framework provides improved numerical ...

ABSTRACT Low‐frequency AC transmission holds promise for high‐voltage land cables, but its ampacity is significantly influenced by cable grounding methods and other structural factors. To explore the specific low‐frequency current‐carrying characteristics of high‐voltage land cables, this paper conducts a thorough theoretical analysis of the coupling ...
