A light weight security scheme for HWMP protocol using Elliptic Curve technique

2011 IEEE 36th Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2011
In this paper we have implemented the ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) technique to provide security in HWMP (Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol). The motivation behind the use of ECDSA is that it is integrated into the IEEE P802.11s/D4.0 standard.

HWMP+: An Improved Traffic Load Sheme for Wireless Mesh Networks

2012 IEEE 14th International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communication & 2012 IEEE 9th International Conference on Embedded Software and Systems, 2012
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are broadly used recently, due to its flexibility, reliability and robust services. IEEE 802.11s defines Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) as the default routing protocol for WMNs and airtime link metric as the default path selection metric. Airtime metric can collect the channel information from both PHY and MAC layers

Performance analysis of HWMP protocol for Wireless Mesh networks using NS3

2016 IEEE Region 10 Conference (TENCON), 2016
Wireless mesh network (WMN) [1] deployments are popular as a cost-effective means to provide broadband connectivity to large population. With the increase in network usage, network planners need to enhance the existing mesh network to provide additional capacity. IEEE 802.11s [2] is the de facto standard for WMN implementations.

A novel mechanism to secure internal attacks in HWMP routing protocol

2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
Wireless Mesh networks are a new way of deployment of wireless networks. They are based on radio nodes that directly communicate and are organized as a mesh topology. The new challenges of this type of deployment could be classified as: first, the improvement of the Quality of Service (QoS) to use the bandwidth more efficiently and to use different ...

Throughput Analysis of HWMP Routing Protocol in Wireless Mesh Networks

Communications in Computer and Information Science, 2010
To become independent of backbone networks leading to cheap deployments, the traditional single-hop approach needs to be replaced by Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). Wireless Mesh Networks is cost-effective alternative to wireless local area networks. Due to multi hop networking, WMN requires multi hop routing protocol.

A new E-HWMP routing algorithm in automatic meter reading networks

2013 IEEE 8th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2013
Besides the data reading function, the AMR network faced to next generation smart grid should has the functions of intelligent power transmission and line damage detection. The traditional AMR network can not meet the above requirement. We should work on new network architecture and optimize the protocol.

Improving the reliability of HWMP for smart grid neighborhood area networks

2016 International Conference on Smart Grid and Clean Energy Technologies (ICSGCE), 2016
Neighborhood Area Networks (NANs) are an important part of the smart grid, which is the last one mile communication in a Smart Grid Communication Network (SGCN), and a routing algorithm is one of the key technologies to improve the performance of NANs. Designing routing metrics is critical for routing algorithm of NANs.

Performance evaluation of an Enhanced Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (E-HWMP) protocol for VANET

2015 International Conference on Computing, Control, Networking, Electronics and Embedded Systems Engineering (ICCNEEE), 2015
In this paper we evaluate Enhanced Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (E-HWMP), an enhanced version of HWMP based on IEEE802.11p and IEEE802.11s standards, especially created for Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). An enhanced gateway selection algorithm for multi-hop relay in VANET- LTE integration network is proposed. In the proposed algorithm the gateway

Performance evaluation of Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP) on VANET using VanetMobiSim

2016 International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Cybernetics, 2016
VANET (Vehicular Ad-hoc Network) is an emerging technology that has taken great attention in the recent years. Due to its changing topology and frequent disconnection naturally, it must have a flexible and optimum routing protocol to accommodate its behaviour.

Performance Evaluation of AODV, OLSR and HWMP Protocols in Ad-Hoc Networks and MANET Scenarios

2015 9th International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing, 2015
Ad-Hoc Networks, Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs), Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are attracting a lot of attention from wireless network researchers, because of their potential use in several fields such as collaborative computing and communications. Considering mobility of the terminals, routing is a key process for operation of WMNs. In this paper, we
