CONTROL OF ASPERGILLUS NIGER IN HYACINTHS

Acta Horticulturae, 1997
During the 2-5 years of cultivation of hyacinth bulbs there are many occasions for an infection by Aspergillus niger. Seeking “super hyacinths”;

Journal of Environmental Science and Health . Part A: Environmental Science and Engineering, 1978
Abstract Three ecotypes, based on size, of water hyacinth, Eichhorina crassipes (Mart.) Solms, a serious, persistent aquatic weed, were used to evaluate its possible utilization as sewage treatment plant and as a fuel precursor. Rates of removal of nitrogen and phosphorus for normal water hyacinths have been reported in the past to be 3.4 and 0.43 kg ...

Biomethanation of water hyacinth biomass

Bioresource Technology, 2018
The aim of this study was to test practical solutions to improve biogas yield during the anaerobic digestion of water hyacinth (WH) biomass. Increasing the WH (whole plant) solid content to ∼40% through sun drying (6 h), and its subsequent digestion increased biogas yield by 14% with a higher biogas methane (75%) content.
