Modeling and Control of a Multi‐Energy Microgrid With Wind LVRT and Battery Pre‐Synchronization Strategy

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 266-280, January 2026.
This study establishes a hybrid microgrid model integrating a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG), a photovoltaic (PV) array, and a battery energy storage system, and proposes a coordinated control framework. The DFIG regulates DC‐bus voltage through the grid‐side converter and performs maximum power tracking via the rotor‐side converter, while the ...

Distributionally Robust Expansion Planning Considering Flexibility for Distribution Network With Soft Open Points

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration, Volume 8, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT The rapid integration of renewable energy generators (REGs) alongside flexibility resources into the grid introduces significant data complexities, alongside increased unpredictability and variability within the distribution network. Reasonable allocation of flexibility resources can improve the utilisation of REGs and the flexibility of the ...

Ferromagnetically Shielded Fault Current Limiter (FS‐FCL) Evaluation in Power Line

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study introduces a new ferromagnetically shielded FS‐FCL design and its control strategy for limiting and interrupting fault currents. The fully shielded core structure enhances inductance and prevents saturation, enabling an immediate fault response without causing voltage drop during normal conditions.

An AI‐Based Technique for Fault Location in Inverter‐Based Active Distribution Networks

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a modified one‐dimensional convolutional neural network with residual connections for fault location in inverter‐based active distribution networks. The method accurately identifies fault distance and location even in complex networks with multiple distributed generators and high fault resistance.

Enhanced Linear Quadratic Regulator‐Based Strategy for Seamless Transition Between Microgrid Operation Modes

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents an LQR‐based strategy for seamless transition between grid‐forming and grid‐following inverters in microgrids. The proposed design integrates the comprehensive control loops of the grid‐forming and grid‐following inverters. A systematic, gradient‐based optimization framework is used for selecting the weighting matrices.
