Constrained Channel Decomposition-Based Hybrid Beamforming for mmWave Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2020
In this article, we propose a hybrid beamforming design for multiuser mmWave massive MIMO systems. We adopt a two-stage approach for designing the analog and digital beamforming separately. The analog beamforming design is based on a constrained low-rank

Optimal Beamforming for Hybrid Satellite Terrestrial Networks with Nonlinear PA and Imperfect CSIT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In hybrid satellite-terrestrial networks (HSTNs), spectrum sharing is crucial to alleviate the "spectrum scarcity" problem. Therein, the transmit beams should be carefully designed to mitigate the inter-satellite-terrestrial interference.

Hybrid Beamforming for dual-polarized antenna [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2019
Recently, dual-polarized antenna has attracted strong attention in Millimeter wave (mmWave) systems. It provides an additional degree-of-freedom in wireless communication, yielding higher throughput. Nowadays, with the development of antenna technology, dual-polarized large scale antenna arrays can be realized inexpensively. However, several challenges

Sparse-periodic hybrid array beamformer

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2007
A novel approach to the design of spatial arrays is presented. The hybrid array beamformer consists of a sparse array in which some of the elements are arranged periodically, thus creating a periodic sub-array. The outputs of the sparse and periodic arrays are then fused to create a beampattern with good resolution and low peak sidelobe levels.
