Research on improving deep space communication using hybrid RF-FSO system

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2020
In order to improve the quality of deep space communication,a mixed RF-FSO system and hybrid LPPM-BPSK-SIM scheme were introduced in deep space. The bit error rate of the hybrid RF-FSO system and the FSO system were compared and analyzed under the impact ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Machine Learning Inspired Hybrid Precoding for Wideband Millimeter-Wave Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) has already been considered as a promising solution to meet the requirement of the higher data rate for the future Internet of Things (IoTs). Hybrid precoding is an effective solution

GPU Kernels for High-Speed 4-Bit Astrophysical Data Processing

open access: yes, 2015
Interferometric radio telescopes often rely on computationally expensive O(N^2) correlation calculations; fortunately these computations map well to massively parallel accelerators such as low-cost GPUs.

Oxide‐Free Titanium Coatings by Wire Arc Spraying in a Silane‐Doped Inert Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A silane‐doped argon atmosphere enables the production of oxide‐free titanium coatings via twin‐wire arc spraying at ambient pressure. This innovative approach eliminates residual oxygen, creating process conditions that prevent oxidation and nitride formation.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Methods of Drilling Speed Promotion for Several Typical Difficult Drilling Formations

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2016
Considering the low ROP and short service life of PDC bit in extra-hard, strong abrasion and soft and hard interlayered heterogeneous formation, new drilling tools and methods are needed to address the drilling speed promotion challenge in difficult ...

Experimental demonstration of quantum learning speed-up with classical input data

open access: yes, 2018
We consider quantum-classical hybrid machine learning in which large-scale input channels remain classical and small-scale working channels process quantum operations conditioned on classical input data. This does not require the conversion of classical (

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.
