Chipless RFID Tag Using Hybrid Coding Technique

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2011
Increasing the coding capacity of chipless RFID tags is a key factor while considering the development of miniaturized tags. A novel hybrid coding technique by combining phase deviation and frequency position encoding is proposed here. A coding capacity of 22.9 bits is obtained simply with five resonators within a reduced dimension of 2 cm × 4 cm.

Frequency-coded chipless RFID tag based on hybrid coding technique

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017
The frequency-coded chipless RFID tag based on spiral resonators has stable performance, but its size is large and its capacity is small. In this paper, we combine the spiral filter structure with defected ground structure, which can control the attenuation effect generated by spiral filter structure.

Utilization of Microwave Imaging for Chipless RFID Tag Reading and Verification - A Hybrid Approach.

AMTA proceedings
Chipless RFID tags can operate in the time-, frequency-, or spatial-domain, each of which comes with its own limitations and challenges. This work proposes and provides a proof-of-concept for a hybrid spatial- and frequency-domain approach that combines frequency-domain information of the resonators of chipless RFID tags with microwave synthetic ...
