Composition parameters for hybrid composite materials

Composites, 1981
Abstract The ‘rule-of-mixtures’ is frequently invoked to compare the properties of hybrid composites with those of related single-fibre materials. If this is to be done, it is essential that the correct value for hybrid composition be employed. Some ways of expressing hybrid composition are defined, the relationships between them given, and the ...

Hybrid Composite Materials and Manufacturing

2022
Composite materials have become widely used for high-performance applications, particularly in the aerospace industry where annual production volumes are low and a higher part cost can be supported. During the last decades composite materials are beginning to see use in a broader range of applications, including the automotive and sports equipment ...

Computational analysis on hybrid composite material

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
Present work describes an attempt to develop hybrid bio-composite material using Bombyx Silk & glass fiber reinforced in epoxy resin as matrix varying the orientation of silk fiber to the glass fiber at an angle of 90.˚ In medical industry weight is an important parameter that is considered widely in manufacturing of artificial limbs for physical ...

Structure and properties of hybrid composite materials

Russian Metallurgy (Metally), 2013
The structure and interfacial interaction are studied in the hybrid aluminum-matrix composite materials fabricated by reactive casting combined with mechanical mixing of fillers with a metallic melt. The following types of hardening are considered: hardening by ceramic particles and by the phases formed as isolated inclusions or coatings on ceramic ...

A Hybrid Method to Determine Material Parameters of Composites

1991
This paper presents a method to determine parameters in constitutive equations, used for the description of the mechanical behaviour of composites. The method is based on: numerical analysis, strain distribution measurements and systems identification techniques. The method is especially suitable to study the behaviour of inhomogeneous materials.

Composite and hybrid materials

2010

Hybridization and Spatial Reinforcement of Composite Materials

2004
Composite materials are used in various designs to improve the characteristics of constructions and reduce their weight. The properties of these materials and the problems of obtaining structural elements based upon them have received a great deal of attention in a number of countries. The fields of composite applications are diversified.

Hybrid Organic–Inorganic and Composite Materials

2020
This chapter is devoted to the relatively recent sol-gel-derived materials, characterized by a complex structure or texture. These comprise hybrid organic–inorganic sol-gel materials and the composite materials in which the matrix is made by sol-gel processing.

A Hybrid Model for Nonlinear Characterization of Composite Materials

1991
Experimental and analytical techniques are employed in the present study to investigate the influence of microstructure rearrangements on tensile properties of woven glass fiber reinforced composite. One-dimensional constitutive model is proposed which contains a variable reflecting the influence of microdamages on macroscopic behaviour.
