Uniplanar hybrid couplers using asymmetrical coplanar strip lines
1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1997This paper presents four new uniplanar 3-dB hybrid couplers using asymmetrical coplanar strips (ACPSs) for microwave integrated circuit (MIC) and monolithic MIC (MMIC) applications. Experimental results show that the standard (1.5 /spl lambda//sub g/ circumference) uniplanar 180/spl deg/ hybrid-ring coupler has 3.5/spl plusmn/ 0.4 dB coupling, greater ...

3D Printed E-Band Hybrid Coupler
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2019In this letter, an additively manufactured 3dB hybrid coupler is presented. While the geometrical structure is generated by a stereolithography (SLA) printer from UV curable photopolymer resin as one single part, conductive coating is provided by an electroless silverplating process.

Quasi-Arbitrary Phase-Difference Hybrid Coupler
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2012Previous hybrid couplers have output phase difference that have either been 0°, 90°, or 180°. Other phase differences could only be realized using additional phase-shift elements. This increased circuit size and cost, and also degraded overall performance due to interconnecting mismatch losses.

NGD Synthesizer with Feedback Hybrid Coupler
2019 IEEE Radio and Antenna Days of the Indian Ocean (RADIO), 2019This paper introduces a hybrid coupler based negative group delay (NGD) topology. The NGD circuit is built with a hybrid coupler with one of output and isolated access ways connected in feedback with a lossy transmission line (TL). It is modelled by S-parameter approach. The NGD topology characteristics are formulated.

Reconfigurable RF Quadrature Patch Hybrid Coupler
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2012A highly reconfigurable radio frequency patch hybrid coupler with a simple topology is presented for the first time. Due to the introduction of lumped equivalent circuit and flexibility of varactor loaded patterned ground plane, the complex reconfigurability in port arrangement and coupling coefficient can be implemented. Varying the capacitance across

Doubly miniaturized rat‐race hybrid coupler
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2011AbstractTwo complementary miniaturization techniques have been applied to reduce the size of a rat‐race hybrid coupler: (i) conventional microstrip sections have been replaced with their diminished low‐impedance counterparts as the first step of size reduction and (ii) novel fractal‐shaped compact microstrip resonant cells dedicated to efficiently ...

Dual-Band Rectangular Patch Hybrid Coupler
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2008This paper presents, for the first time, the design of a rectangular patch hybrid coupler that can operate at two arbitrary frequency bands with the same quadrature phase relation between the two outputs. The design procedure of the hybrid coupler is presented.

Frequency switchable branch‐line hybrid coupler
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2013AbstractThis article first presents a frequency‐selectable branch‐line hybrid coupler. To provide a frequency‐selection function, a dual‐band band‐pass transmission‐line transformer (TLT) with a frequency selective function is used. This is achieved by replacing a dual‐band TLT with a variable capacitively loaded spur‐line filter.

Hybrid Branchline Couplers -- A Useful New Class of Directional Couplers
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1974The hybrid branchline coupler consists of two transmission lines connected alternately by /spl lambda//4 shunt and series branches. The analysis of this structure leads to a class of directional couplers of which the parallel transmission-line and the de Ronde strip-slot types may be regarded as special cases.

Hybrid type rat-race coupler designs
2015 Asia-Pacific Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (APEMC), 2015Two reduced size hybrid type rat-race coupler designs are presented. By using two kinds of T-type equivalent circuits replaced the transmission lines used in rat-race coupler and employing the coupled line structure, we achieved reduce size rat-race designs.
