This paper introduces a miniaturized Butler matrix design method using a folded structure. The Butler matrix was fabricated in multi-layers using low-temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) and designed to operate at 28 GHz.

This paper explores a hybrid mode rf structure that served as a superconducting radio-frequency coupler. This application achieves a reflection S_{(1,1)} varying from 0 to −30 db and delivers cw power at 7 KW.

The two classical 90° couplers (Lange coupler and branch-line hybrid) are not appropriate for frequencies around 1–5 GHz. The small 90° coupler proposed by the authors is the implementation of the Wheatstone bridge in uniplanar transmission lines. It is dedicated to narrowband applications. The coupler is demonstrated at a centre frequency of 4 GHz.

Broadband uniplanar hybrid ring coupler
A new uniplanar hybrid ring coupler using coplanar waveguide (CPW) and slotline is presented. This new coupler provides substantially improved amplitude and phase characteristics over a broad bandwidth compared with the conventional microstrip hybrid ring couplers.
