Reconfigurable Meta-Coupler Employing Hybrid Metal-Graphene Metasurfaces [PDF]
AbstractEfficient excitation of surface wave (SW) remains one of the most challenging considerations in the photonics and plasmonics areas. Inspired by recent investigations of metasurfaces, we propose a hybrid metal-graphene transmitarray converting incident propagating wave (PW) to SW, as a solution for SW excitations–a meta-coupler.

UDWDM-PON using low-cost coherent transceivers with limited tunability and heuristic DWA [PDF]
A new Passive Optical Network (PON) for access, making use of Ultra Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (UDWDM) by densely spacing channels at few GHz, and introducing the “wavelength-to-the-user” concept, is proposed.

A 90° optical hybrid employing an MMI coupler was fabricated on a thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) platform that can be used for integrated coherent transceivers. The fabricated 90° optical hybrid exhibited a CMRR greater than 20 dB, a phase error below ±

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Hybrid Analog-Digital Precoding Revisited under Realistic RF Modeling [PDF]
In this paper we revisit hybrid analog-digital precoding systems with emphasis on their modelling and radio-frequency (RF) losses, to realistically evaluate their benefits in 5G system implementations.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Design of Miniaturized 90-Degree Hybrid Coupler with Wide Rejection Band Using Neural Network
In this paper, a 3 dB 90-degree hybrid coupler with size reduction and harmonics rejection was designed. In the proposed coupler structure, four simple low-pass filters (LPFs) were applied.
