A hybrid selection method on information system development projects

International Journal of Business Information Systems, 2016
As a critical management activity, project selection must be based on critical success factors; however, finding these factors within a project context is a challenge. The present study introduces a framework with five dimensions of financial, organisational, time, product and innovation to classify criteria by promoting the project management triangle.

Towards an integrated method for hybrid information system development

IEE Proceedings - Software Engineering, 1997
This paper describes an integrated method for the development of hybrid information systems, which combines conventional information system development methods with knowledge-based system development methods. The method is an integration of four existing methods using two integration process approaches: intraprocess and interprocess.

Recent developments in hybrid CG methods

1994
In many relevant large scale computations one has to solve very large linear nonsymmetric systems. Often there is no alternative but to solve these systems by some iterative solution method. In the past few years new methods have emerged that can be seen as combinations of standard Krylov subspace methods, such as Bi-CG and GMRES.

A new development of the harmonic balance method: The hybrid harmonic balance method

Analysis and Applications
The harmonic balance (HB) method is efficient in predicting the limit cycle oscillations for many dynamic systems including very high dimensional systems in fluid dynamics. Recently, some variations and extensions of the HB method have been developed and employed in the computation of large systems.

Hybrid electric vehicles and sustainable development: A mixed-method analysis

Journal of Environmental Management
The present study's objective is to determine the explanations (in favour and against) behind the attitude and intention of Generation-Z customers to adopt hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). The research has adopted a mixed-methods design to explore and recognise the context-defined explanations (in favour and against) for HEV adoption and the moderating

Development of rapid coagulase serotyping method by PCR and microplate hybridization

Journal of Microbiological Methods, 2008
We developed a novel PCR-based method for coagulase serotyping. Coagulase gene amplicons biotinylated by PCR were identified by microplate hybridization (MPH) using serotype-specific probes. The conventional serotyping method, which is strongly dependent on coagulase activity, may sometimes give a mistaken determination of the serotype, especially in ...

Basic Development of Hybrid Finite Element Method for Midfrequency Structural Vibrations

AIAA Journal, 1999
The theoretical development of a hybrid finite element method is presented. It combines conventional finite element analysis (FEA) with energy FEA (EFEA) to achieve a numerical solution to midfrequency vibrations. In the midfrequency range a system comprises some members that contain several wavelengths and some members with just a few wavelengths ...

Developing energy forecasting model using hybrid artificial intelligence method

Journal of Central South University, 2015
An important problem in demand planning for energy consumption is developing an accurate energy forecasting model. In fact, it is not possible to allocate the energy resources in an optimal manner without having accurate demand value. A new energy forecasting model was proposed based on the back-propagation (BP) type neural network and imperialist ...

Hybrid BRAINNE: a method for developing symbolic disjunctive rules from a hybrid neural network

1996 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. Information Intelligence and Systems (Cat. No.96CH35929), 2002
A method for learning disjunctive rules using a combination of two existing neural network schemes is proposed. The hybrid network consists of two layers; the first is an unsupervised network while the second is a supervised network. The first layer is used for ordering the inputs of training instances into clusters.

A hybrid numerical method to develop America’s Cup yacht appendages

Sports Engineering, 2009
A method aimed at the development of an America’s Cup racing yacht bulb is developed and validated against experimental data. The method relies heavily on Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and also factors in gravitational and aerodynamics effects through the use of a Velocity Prediction Program.
