This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Probing a two-level system bath via the frequency shift of an off-resonantly-driven cavity
Although the main loss channel of planar microwave superconducting resonators has been identified to be related to an external coupling to a two-level system (TLS) bath, the behavior of such a cavity in the presence of an off-resonant pump has yet to be ...

ABSTRACT In vitro arterial models offer ethical and robust alternatives for vascular research but require cytocompatible materials that replicate physiological mechanics. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels produced by directional freezing and salting‐out (PVA DFSO) are anisotropic yet lack stability for cell culture. Herein, methacrylated PVA (PVA‐MA)

Dielectric-tuned photon-photon coupling in a planar hybrid system
This study presents photon-photon coupling (PPC) in a microwave hybrid system consisting of a Split Ring Resonator (SRR) and a Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR), both acting as photon modes.

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Modeling of gapped power bus structures for isolation using cavity modes [PDF]
Power bus resonance characteristics of a gapped power-plane with a slit and a split power-plane with a gap were studied, using a fast algorithm based on a full cavity-mode resonator model and the segmentation method.

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

This paper examines a triple band cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) with three different radiating modes, i.e., HEM118, TM018, and HEM128. Excitation of all these radiating modes simultaneously, in CDRA, is the most challenging task, which ...

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.
