Fiber-based, hybrid terahertz spectrometer using dual fiber combs

Optics Letters, 2010
We constructed a fiber-based, hybrid terahertz (THz) spectrometer having two working modes, asynchronous-optical-sampling THz time-domain spectroscopy (AOS-THz-TDS) and multiple-frequency-heterodyning THz comb spectroscopy (MFH-THz-CS), by use of dual fiber-laser-based frequency combs.

FeCo/FeCoNi/N-doped carbon nanotubes grafted polyhedron-derived hybrid fibers as bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts for durable rechargeable zinc–air battery

Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, 2019
The rational design and exploration of highly efficient, low-cost, and robust electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is critical for development of rechargeable metal-air batteries.

Effect of steel-PVA hybrid fibers on compressive behavior of CaCO3 whiskers reinforced cement mortar

, 2020
Recently, CaCO3 whiskers (CW) are used as new-type micro-fibers for achieving reinforcing and toughening of cement-based materials due to their cracking resistance ability at micro-scale.

Quinone Cross-Linked Polysaccharide Hybrid Fiber

Biomacromolecules, 2003
The present article describes the synthesis of the N-(Lys-Gly-Tyr-Gly)-chitosan using the water-soluble active ester method, the preparation of the N-(Lys-Gly-Tyr-Gly)-chitosan-gellan hybrid fibers, and the reinforcement of the hybrid fibers by enzymatic cross-linking between the N-grafted peptides chains of chitosan.

Polyaniline/graphene hybrid fibers as electrodes for flexible supercapacitors

, 2020
Graphene fiber-based supercapacitors have attracted tremendous interest and possess the greatest potential for flexible/wearable energy storage devices. However, their specific capacitance and energy density are not sufficient and impede their widespread

Fracture behavior of cement mortar reinforced by hybrid composite fiber consisting of CaCO3 whiskers and PVA-steel hybrid fibers

Composites. Part A, Applied science and manufacturing, 2019
We added CaCO3 whiskers into polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-steel hybrid fiber system to obtain multiscale hybrid fiber reinforced cement mortar (MHFRC). Three-point bending (3-p-b) tests were carried out on 64 notched beams to investigate fracture behavior of ...

Hybrid Fiber Links using Quasi-Single-Mode Fibers

2019 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), 2019
We evaluate the performance of coherent optical communications systems using hybrid spans, composed of quasi-single-mode (QSM) and single-mode fibers (SMFs). We study how the optimum fiber splitting ratio per span increases with the span length, the QSM fiber effective area, and the residual multipath interference at the receiver.

Hybrid fibers: multimaterial nanophotonic devices in fiber form

Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, 2012
I will review our recent results related to nanophotonic hybrid fibers. I will discuss plasmonic hybridization inside fibers and the optical properties of highly nonlinear chalcogenide-silica waveguides and their application in infrared supercontinuum generation.

Contribution of hybrid fibers on the improvement of sand concrete properties: Barley straws treated with hot water and steel fibers

, 2020
This study is a continuation of previous work undertaken on a sand concrete lightened by barley straws treated with hot water. Indeed, this type of lightweight concrete presented good thermo-physical properties.
