Aluminum/carbon fiber hybrid composites

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1979
Abstract An effective, economic way of using carbon fiber is to combine it with a resin and another material, either a fiber or a metal, to produce a hybrid structure. Some of the properties of a hybrid beam made by attaching carbon composite to either side of an aluminum channel section are described here.

1T-Molybdenum disulfide/reduced graphene oxide hybrid fibers as high strength fibrous electrodes for wearable energy storage

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2019
1T-MoS2 modified reduced graphene oxide hybrid fibers with good energy storage performance were fabricated through a wet-spinning method. The strong fibrous electrode materials can be used in wearable devices and textiles.

A study on the efficiency of steel vs. synthetic vs. hybrid fibers on fracture behavior of concrete in flexure using acoustic emission

Construction and Building Materials, 2019
Synergistic effect of different fibers on the improvement of fracture behavior of concrete is a widely accepted phenomenon. However, the fracture mechanisms behind their improvement need to be clearly understood for optimizing the fiber dosage.

Characterization and optimization of hardened properties of self-consolidating concrete incorporating recycled steel, industrial steel, polypropylene and hybrid fibers

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2018
This paper presents an experimental/analytical investigation to examine the feasibility of hybrid fibers in self-consolidating concrete containing different fiber types (industrial steel fiber, recycled steel fibers, and Polypropylene fiber), contents (0.

Selectively filled hybrid ARROW fibers

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
We experimentally demonstrate novel hybrid photonic crystal fibres incorporating a single ring of high-index inclusions surrounded by several rings of holes. These fibres are designed to exhibit large bandwidths of guidance combined with periodic group velocity dispersion zeros.

Complementary design of nano-carbon/magnetic microwire hybrid fibers for tunable microwave absorption

Carbon, 2018
Hybridizing nanocarbons, such as carbon nanotubes (CNT) or graphene, with magnetic metals is a powerful strategy towards designing high-performance microwave absorber due to the resulting synergetic loss mechanisms and tunable electromagnetic properties.

HYBRID FIBER REINFORCED CONCRETE

2007
This paper describes the mechanical performance of hybrid fiber concrete with a maximum fiber dosage of 0.75 Vol.%. Two types of fibers were used: short straight steel fibers and long hooked-end steel fibers. The concrete compressive strength (fc,cub150) varied between 55 and 65 MPa, dependent on the fiber mixture.

Experimental investigation on flexural behavior of hybrid fibers reinforced recycled brick aggregates concrete

Construction and Building Materials, 2019
This paper aims to investigate the flexural strength, deformation and toughness of steel-polyolefin hybrid fibers reinforced recycled brick aggregates concrete (HFRBAC) through the testing of the beam specimens with the size of 150 × 150 × 550 mm.
