A hybrid filter for program personalization
Proceedings ITCC 2003. International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing, 2004The current exponential growth of DTV programs precipitates a need for new filtering techniques to provide program personalization for people. Several filtering methods, notably Boolean filtering and similarity-based filtering, have been proposed in information filtering.

Median-rational hybrid filters
Proceedings 1998 International Conference on Image Processing. ICIP98 (Cat. No.98CB36269), 2002We introduce a new class of nonlinear filters called median-rational hybrid filters (MRHF) based on rational functions (RF). The filter output is the result of a rational operation taking into account three sub-functions, such as two FIR or median sub-filters and one center weighted median filter (CWMF).

This chapter describes a standard method for the hybridization of labeled DNA probes to nucleic acids bound to a nylon matrix. Filters bearing bound nucleic acids produced by Northern blotting of RNA (Chapter 39), Southern blotting of DNA (Chapter 37), and slot blotting of DNA (Chapters 35) or RNA (Chapter 40) are hybridized to labeled probes using the

Summary form only given. This paper expands polynomial filters to the class of polynomial hybrid (PH) filters. Traditional polynomial filtering theory, based on linear combinations of polynomial terms, is able to approximate important classes of nonlinear systems.

Hybrid filter for lock-in amplifiers
Review of Scientific InstrumentsLock-in amplifiers are instrumental in the precise measurement of extremely small AC signals within high-noise environments. Traditionally, noise reduction in these instruments relies on infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, which can necessitate prolonged settling times to ensure the acquisition of accurate, statistically independent data.

Harmonic Detection for Hybrid Filter
2011Harmonic distortion can be caused by both active and passive nonlinear devices in a power system. These harmonic currents can cause voltage distortion and excessive power losses in the system. To maintain high quality power supply, the system harmonic levels must be measured and kept under control.

A hybrid collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm
Proceedings of the 2016 International Conference on Intelligent Information Processing, 2016The personalized recommending system approaches have been widely been employed in e-commerce to help users find items they like. Recommender algorithm is the core of the personalized recommending system. The Slope One algorithm is a commonly used collaborative filtering algorithm.

A finite-dimensional filter for hybrid observations
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1998The paper considers a system whose dynamics are described in terms of the hybrid of a VAR(1)-type process and a discrete state-space Markov chain. It provides a recursive expression for the conditional distributions of these two processes, given a set of observations which are a noisy linear combination of these two processes.

Hybrid multivariate marginal median filters
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 2002This paper introduced a new class of hybrid multivariate marginal median filters. The proposed approach combined the noise suppression capabilities of the componentwise median filters and the edge preservation properties of the vector median filters.
