Multi-stage hybrid flow shop scheduling problem with lag, unloading, and transportation times [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ Computer Science
This study aims to address a variant of the hybrid flow shop problem by simultaneously integrating lag times, unloading times, and transportation times, with the goal of minimizing the maximum completion time, or makespan.

A systematic literature review on energy-efficient hybrid flow shop scheduling

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2023
Scheduling problems should not only focus on minimizing completion time, but other performances, such as minimizing energy consumption, are urgent to investigate.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Collaborative variable neighborhood search for multi-objective distributed scheduling in two-stage hybrid flow shop with sequence-dependent setup times

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Distributed scheduling is seldom investigated in hybrid flow shops. In this study, distributed two-stage hybrid flow shop scheduling problem (DTHFSP) with sequence-dependent setup times is considered.

Integrating sustainability into production scheduling in hybrid flow-shop environments

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Pollution Research, 2023
AbstractGlobal energy consumption is projected to grow by nearly 50% as of 2018, reaching a peak of 910.7 quadrillion BTU in 2050. The industrial sector accounts for the largest share of the energy consumed, making energy awareness on the shop floors imperative for promoting industrial sustainable development.

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Improved SP-MCTS-Based Scheduling for Multi-Constraint Hybrid Flow Shop

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
As a typical non-deterministic polynomial (NP)-hard combinatorial optimization problem, the hybrid flow shop scheduling problem (HFSSP) is known to be a very common layout in real-life manufacturing scenarios.
