Multiport Hybrid HVDC Circuit Breaker [PDF]

open access: greenIEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
This paper proposes a new $\boldsymbol {n}$ -port hybrid dc circuit breaker for offshore multiterminal HVDC grid application. The $\boldsymbol {n}$ -port dc circuit breaker can substitute $\boldsymbol {n-1}$ hybrid dc circuit breakers at a dc bus with $\boldsymbol {n-1}$ adjacent dc transmission lines.

Technical Assessment of Hybrid HVDC Circuit Breaker Components under M-HVDC Faults [PDF]

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
One of the technical challenges that needs to be addressed for the future of the multi-terminal high voltage direct current (M-HVDC) grid is DC fault isolation. In this regard, HVDC circuit breakers (DCCBs), particularly hybrid circuit breakers (H-DCCBs), are paramount.

An Improved Mixed AC/DC Power Flow Algorithm in Hybrid AC/DC Grids with MT-HVDC Systems [PDF]

open access: goldApplied Sciences, 2019
One of the major challenges on large-scale Multi-Terminal High Voltage Direct Current (MT-HVDC) systems is the steady-state interaction of the hybrid AC/DC grids to achieve an accurate Power Flow (PF) solution. In PF control of MT-HVDC systems, different

Controllable reactor based hybrid HVDC breaker [PDF]

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2020
Short circuit fault occurrence in high‐voltage DC (HVDC) systems causes extremely high currents in a fast raising time that does not experience current zero‐crossing. To protect HVDC systems/grids against fault current, fast HVDC breaker is an essential equipment.
