Preparation and characterization of silica@Eu spheres

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
An unsophisticated preparation of silica@Eu spheres has been investigated. Many experimental tests, such as transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometer mapping, were carried out to confirm that the rare earth complex coats the ...

A novel hybrid material with calcium and strontium release capability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The preparation of PDMS–TEOS–CaO hybrid materials by sol–gel techniques has been widely described in previous works. Calcium nitrate is the most common source of calcium used in these preparations.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Efficient [Fe-Imidazole@SiO2] Nanohybrids for Catalytic H2 Production from Formic Acid

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
Three imidazole-based hybrid materials, coded as IGOPS, IPS and impyridine@SiO2 nanohybrids, were prepared via the covalent immobilization of N-ligands onto a mesoporous nano-SiO2 matrix for H2 generation from formic acid (FA). BET and HRTEM demonstrated

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Long-Range Interaction between Charge and Spin Qubits in Quantum Dots

open access: yes, 2017
We analyze and give estimates for the long-distance coupling via floating metallic gates between different types of spin qubits in quantum dots made of different commonly used materials. In particular, we consider the hybrid, the singlet-triplet, and the

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Smart Cancer-Targeting and Super-Sensitive Sensing of Eu3+/Tb3+-Induced Hyaluronan Characteristic Nano-Micelles with Effective Drug Loading and Release

open access: yesMolecules
To avoid the critical problems of effective drugs not being carried to their targeted cancers and their quantity and location not being sensed in situ, this work presents a completely new innovative strategy to achieve both smart cancer targeting (SCT ...

Tailored novel phosphonate-based hybrid materials by design for diverse applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Hybrid materials are composed of an organic and an inorganic part, placed together in such a way that the final product has defined structures and properties.
