Modeling and Simulation of Hybrid Renewable Microgrid System

2020 17th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2020
This paper deals with the modeling and simulation of hybrid photovoltaic/ wind/ battery system used for isolated sites. In fact, for the wind energy system, a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is used. The PMSG model is given in the d-q reference frame.

Control of hybrid AC/DC microgrid under islanding operational conditions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2014
This paper presents control methods for hybrid AC/DC microgrid under islanding operation condition. The control schemes for AC sub-microgrid and DC sub-microgrid are investigated according to the power sharing requirement and operational reliability.

Securing DC and hybrid microgrids

2015 IEEE First International Conference on DC Microgrids (ICDCM), 2015
Many security technologies for microgrids have been proposed in the literature, which must be rigorously tested in a realistic power platform before being transitioned to the energy sector. To address this need, a 13.8-kV microgrid security test bed is introduced in this paper towards the objective of securing dc and hybrid microgrids.

Static hybrid AC/DC microgrid planning

2016 IEEE Power & Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2016
A hybrid microgrid planning model is proposed in this paper to determine the least-cost distributed energy resource (DER) size and generation mix, the type of each feeder in the microgrid distribution network (i.e., AC or DC), and the optimal location of each selected DER.

Modeling and simulation of a microgrid as a Stochastic Hybrid System

2012 3rd IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Europe (ISGT Europe), 2012
Microgrids (MGs) are small-scale local energy grids. While dedicated to cover local power needs, their structure and operation is usually quite complex. Complexity arises due to a number of factors: in the first instance, a variety of operational modes - among them, MGs can be considered to be operated autonomously whenever the main distribution grid ...

Power flow control of interlinked hybrid microgrids

2012 15th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (EPE/PEMC), 2012
Microgrids are small reliable grids formed by clustering distributed sources and loads together. They can, in principle, operate at different voltages and frequencies like 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 400 Hz or even dc. Tying them either to the mains grid or among themselves would certainly require some interlinking power converters, whose active and reactive power ...

Fuel cells hybrid systems for resilient microgrids

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2019
Nowadays, resilient grids meet growing interest for their capability of let survive critical load even in case of power fault coming from grid disturbance and disasters. In particular, telecommunications infrastructures (point-to-point and cell infrastructure) have distributed systems (RBS, DCs) equipped with storage devices used to guarantee ...
