Mode Estimation of Probabilistic Hybrid Systems

2002
Model-based diagnosis and mode estimation capabilities excel at diagnosing systems whose symptoms are clearly distinguished from normal behavior. A strength of mode estimation, in particular, is its ability to track a system's discrete dynamics as it moves between different behavioral modes.

Hybrid Čerenkov mode in a resonant medium

Physical Review E, 2000
Energy stored in a resonant medium may be used to amplify the Cerenkov radiation generated by a small driving bunch. The hybrid eigenmode of the system is a combination of Cerenkov radiation and eigenmode of the resonant medium. In the vicinity of the resonant frequency of the medium and when Cerenkov condition is satisfied, the eigenfrequency has an ...

Hybrid Heteroepitaxial Growth Mode

physica status solidi (a), 2018
A “hybrid” surface growth mode is studied by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy and ex situ synchrotron X‐ray diffraction. Heteroepitaxial growth of MnSb(0001) on GaAs(111) leads to the direct formation of islands, but the islands themselves grow in a local layer‐by‐layer fashion, having low aspect ratio and flat tops.

HYBRID CONTROL MODE

EKONOMIKA I UPRAVLENIE: PROBLEMY, RESHENIYA
The features of management modes containing contradictory goals and means of their implementation are considered. Opacity, unpredictability and lack of a unified logic of decision-making in such orders are noted. Models (structural, functional, fields) for the study of hybrid modes are proposed.

On the Optimality of the Hybrid Tenure Mode

Journal of Housing Economics, 1998
Abstract In contrast to most studies in the tenure choice literature, our model confronts the agent with a continuum of tenure modes combining homeownership and tenancy. In principle, the hybrid tenure mode contract, while appearing in different forms, may be detected in various real estate markets around the world.

Introduction to hybrid-mode feeds

1984
The most important use in antennas for a hybrid-mode waveguide or horn is as a feed for a reflector, so we begin this chapter by considering, in general terms, how the feed influences antenna performance. Fig. 2.1 shows a photograph of a horn feed in a Cassegrain antenna forming part of a satellite-communication earth station while Fig.

Merchant, Platform, or Hybrid Mode?

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019
This study examines how non-linearity and asymmetric demand, as well as the endogenous entry of suppliers, affect an intermediary's choice of being a platform, a merchant, or a hybrid of the two modes, and identifies the conditions for each mode of market making to be chosen. Further, we provide the ranking of social welfare for these three modes.

HYBRID MODE HORN ANTENNAS

Electromagnetics, 1986
ABSTRACT Hybrid mode horns are of considerable practical importance, especially as feeds for lens and reflector antennas. In this tutorial review the boundary conditions necessary to support hybrid modes in round waveguide are derived. Expressions for the field components in HE1n and EH1n modes are given and from these the transverse field over the ...
