Numerical Modeling of MHD Double‐Diffusive Convection and Entropy Generation in an Inclined Curvilinear Lid‐Driven Cavity

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 5, Page 2297-2314, May 2025.
Numerical analysis of double‐diffusive convection in a curvilinear cavity with SiO2/H2O nanofluid, focusing on mesh, validation, results, and optimisation. ABSTRACT This paper investigates numerically the effect of MHD and entropy generation on double‐diffusive combined convection in an inclined enclosure filled with Si2O/H2O and heated fins.

Unique shape changes during freezing of a nanofluid droplet [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Understanding the dynamics during freezing of nanofluid droplets is of importance from a fundamental and practical viewpoint. While the freezing of a water droplet has been extensively studied, little information is available about the characteristics of freezing a nanofluid droplet.

Multi‐Perspective Behavioural Investigations on Coolant of Battery Thermal Management Systems in Electrical Vehicles Using Computational Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 5, Page 2455-2479, May 2025.
Processes occuring in the Battery thermal system during the coolant flow ABSTRACT Battery thermal management system (BTMS) is a very important field that is currently being focused on by the thermal and energy departments all around the world. This work primarily emphasizes channel design for BTMS and the utilization of modern computational fluid ...

The Classical Nature of Thermal Conduction in Nanofluids [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
Several new mechanisms have been hypothesized in the recent years to characterize the thermal conduction behavior in nanofluids. In this paper, we show that a large set of nanofluid thermal conductivity data is enveloped by the well-known Hashin and Shtrikman (HS) mean-field bounds for inhomogeneous systems.

Convective Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics of Graphene-Water Nanofluids in Transitional Flow [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The convective heat transfer and flow behavior of graphene-water nanofluids are studied experimentally by focusing on transitional flow. Graphene-water nanofluids with different particle mass fractions (0.025, 0.1 and 0.2%) are produced following two-step method and using PVP as a surfactant.

Solar FPC performance enrichment with Al2O3 / SiO2 nanofluids and hybrid nanofluid

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Sustainable energy harvesting plays a crucial role in advancing the goals outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Solar flat plate collectors (FPC) are integral to sustainable energy harvesting, aligning closely with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly goals 7, 8, 9, 13 and 17.

Exploration of an MHD Jeffrey six‐constant fluid under the influence of a convective boundary condition

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 105, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract This study investigates the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of a non‐Newtonian fluid in an inclined tube, incorporating the effects of cilia‐driven transport and convective boundary conditions. The governing equations are formulated considering the influence of magnetic field intensity, ciliary motion, and inclination angle.

Stability of glycol nanofluids -- the consensus between theory and measurement [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Formulation of stable nanofluids containing ZnO, Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles in propylene glycol (PG), ethylene glycol (EG) and 50wt% mixtures of PG and EG in water (WPG, WEG) were investigated, with and without the presence of surfactants. Nanofluid samples of particle concentrations 1-9wt% were prepared by dispersive method.

Modeling and Simulation of Thermo-Fluid-Electrochemical Ion Flow in Biological Channels [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
In this article we address the study of ion charge transport in the biological channels separating the intra and extracellular regions of a cell. The focus of the investigation is devoted to including thermal driving forces in the well-known velocity-extended Poisson-Nernst-Planck (vPNP) electrodiffusion model.

Investigating the convective flow of ternary hybrid nanofluids and single nanofluids around a stretched cylinder: Parameter analysis and performance enhancement

open access: yesInternational Journal of Thermofluids
Within this research, we examined the convective flow of a blend of ternary hybrid nanofluids and single nanofluids with a stagnation point caused by a stretched cylinder.
