Hybrid Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles for Biophotonics

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010
A novel Zinc oxide (ZnO)-Hydrogel fluorescent colloidal semiconductor nanomaterials system is presented for potential bio-medical applications such as cell and tissue imaging. ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized using arc discharge technique has been conjugated to bio-compatible Poly N-isopropylacrylamide (PNIPAM) based hydrogel polymer matrix.

Tubular Hybrids: A Nanoparticle—Molecular Network

Langmuir, 2018
We report here a new methodology for the formation of freestanding nanotubes composed of individual gold nanoparticles (NPs) cross-linked by coordination complexes or porphyrin molecules using WS2 nanotubes (INT-WS2) as a template. Our method consists of three steps: (i) coverage of these robust inorganic materials with monodispersed and dense ...

Bright photoluminescent hybrid mesostructured silica nanoparticles

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2012
Bright photoluminescent mesostructured silica nanoparticles were synthesized by the incorporation of fluorescent cyanine dyes into the channels of MCM-41 mesoporous silica. Cyanine molecules were introduced into MCM-41 nanoparticles by physical adsorption and covalent grafting. Several photoluminescent nanoparticles with different organic loadings have

Properties of silicon–ZnO hybrid nanoparticles

2022
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a great material and many studies have been done on it to obtain various forms such as nanowires nanorods, nanoparticles, etc. These forms of the ZnO can be employed in various applications as pristine and compose or hybrid other materials.

Hybrid solar cells using PbS nanoparticles

Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, 2007
Solution-processed bilayer heterojunction hybrid solar cells have been fabricated using size-quantized PbS nanoparticles and poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT). PbS was used as an electron-transporting layer whereas P3HT was used for hole transport. A photovoltaic device consisting of PbS and P3HT exhibited 3% incident photon to current efficiencies (IPCE)

Nanoparticles-Based Phenol-Formaldehyde Hybrid Resins

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2008
The synthesis, characterization and corrosion properties of a novel material, produced by the reaction of silica nanoparticles with a functionalized Phenol-Formaldehyde Resin (PFR), are presented. Carboxylic groups were attached in situ to the PFR skeleton to produce a functionalized resin (PFR-SA), which is then reacted with sol–gel-prepared silica ...

DNA Hybridization in Thermoresponsive Polymer Nanoparticles

ChemPhysChem, 2010
AbstractWe achieve very high hybridization efficiencies by using a new method to immobilize DNA strands on the surface of thermoresponsive polymer nanoparticles. Hybridization efficiencies of about 70 % are obtained between the DNA immobilized in the particles and a complementary strand in solution, even at very low ionic strengths (1 mM).

Silicon nanocrystal-noble metal hybrid nanoparticles

Nanoscale, 2016
We report a novel and facile self-limiting synthesis route of silicon nanocrystal (Si NC)-based colloidally stable semiconductor-metal (gold, silver and platinum) hybrid nanoparticles (NPs). For the formation of hybrid NPs, we employ ligand-free colloidal Si NCs with heavily boron (B) and phosphorus (P) doped shells.

Metal Nanoparticle/Porphyrinoid Hybrids

2015
In this chapter, electronic properties of Au/porphyrin or phthalocyanine (porphin) hybrid nanostructure are mentioned. The coordination ability of porphin onto metal nanostructure is relatively strong exploiting orbital hybridization between π-orbitals of porphin.
