Inference in hybrid Bayesian networks [PDF]

open access: yesReliability Engineering & System Safety, 2009
Since the 1980s, Bayesian Networks (BNs) have become increasingly popular for building statistical models of complex systems. This is particularly true for boolean systems, where BNs often prove to be a more efficient modelling framework than traditional reliability-techniques (like fault trees and reliability block diagrams).

Access Point Placement for Hybrid UAV-Terrestrial Small-Cell Networks

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2021
We address the problem of access point (AP) placement in small-cell networks with partial infrastructure flexibility, i.e., a novel class of problem in Beyond 5G, resultant from the utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with AP functionalities ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

A Spatial–Spectral Transformer for Hyperspectral Image Classification Based on Global Dependencies of Multi-Scale Features

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Vision transformers (ViTs) are increasingly utilized for HSI classification due to their outstanding performance. However, ViTs encounter challenges in capturing global dependencies among objects of varying sizes, and fail to effectively exploit the ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Artificial neural network control strategies for fuel cell hybrid system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The greening of air transport is the driver for developing technologies to reduce the environmental impact of aviation with the aim of halving the amount of carbon dioxide (COଶ) emitted by air transport, cutting specific emissions of nitrogen oxides ...

Different Tools on Multi-Objective Optimization of a Hybrid Artificial Neural Network – Genetic Algorithm for Plasma Chemical Reactor Modelling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A hybrid ANN-GA was successfully developed to model, to simulate and to optimize simultaneously a catalytic–DBD plasma reactor. The integrated ANN-GA method facilitates powerful modeling and multi-objective optimization for co-generation of synthesis ...

Hybrid social media network [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 20th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2012
Analysis and recommendation of multimedia information can be greatly improved if we know the interactions between the content, user, and concept, which can be easily observed from the social media networks. However, there are many heterogeneous entities and relations in such networks, making it difficult to fully represent and exploit the diverse array
