Process parameters optimization of EDM for hybrid aluminum MMC using hybrid optimization technique. [PDF]
This study explores how machining parameters affect Surface Roughness (SR), Tool Wear Rate (TWR), and Material Removal Rate (MRR) during Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) of a hybrid aluminum metal matrix composite (AMMC). The composite includes 6 % Silicon carbide (SiC) and 6 % Boron carbide (B4C) in an Aluminum 7075 (Al7075) matrix.

On the Convergence Rate of Quasi-Newton Methods on Strongly Convex Functions with Lipschitz Gradient
The main results of the study of the convergence rate of quasi-Newton minimization methods were obtained under the assumption that the method operates in the region of the extremum of the function, where there is a stable quadratic representation of the ...

A number of real-world problems of automatic grouping of objects or clustering require a reasonable solution and the possibility of interpreting the result. More specific is the problem of identifying homogeneous subgroups of objects.

Optimizing Hybrid Spreading in Metapopulations [PDF]
AbstractEpidemic spreading phenomena are ubiquitous in nature and society. Examples include the spreading of diseases, information and computer viruses. Epidemics can spread by local spreading, where infected nodes can only infect a limited set of direct target nodes and global spreading, where an infected node can infect every other node.

Properties of the Quadratic Transformation of Dual Variables
We investigate a solution of a convex programming problem with a strongly convex objective function based on the dual approach. A dual optimization problem has constraints on the positivity of variables.

Calculating the Moore–Penrose Generalized Inverse on Massively Parallel Systems
In this work, we consider the problem of calculating the generalized Moore–Penrose inverse, which is essential in many applications of graph theory.

Optimal Constructions of Hybrid Algorithms [PDF]
We study on-line strategies for solving problems with hybrid algorithms. There is a problem Q and w basic algorithms for solving Q. For some lambda <= w, we have a computer with lambda disjoint memory areas, each of which can be used to run a basic algorithm and store its intermediate results.

Optimal control of hybrid systems [PDF]
This paper presents a method for optimal control of hybrid systems. An inequality of Bellman type is considered and every solution to this inequality gives a lower bound on the optimal value function. A discretization of this "hybrid Bellman inequality" leads to a convex optimization problem in terms of finite-dimensional linear programming.
