Hybrid power systems

2013 Texas Instruments India Educators' Conference, 2013
Energy can be harvested parasitically from ambient motions such as human movements like footsteps, motion of the automobiles etc., Transducers when subjected to external force convert pressure in to potential. This potential when accumulated can cater the needs of the present day world illuminating many houses, running fans, charging the batteries and ...

Analysis of Hybrid Power Systems

First Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS'07), 2007
The paper contains the modelling of system comprising, the diesel generator, wind energy source, photovoltaic cell, solar power cells in source side domestic load, Industrial load in load side. The diesel generator is considered as a controlled energy source, and the wind is an uncontrolled energy source and the domestic load as an uncontrolled energy ...

Hybrid systems view of power system modelling

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002
The large disturbance behaviour of power systems often involves complex interactions between continuous dynamics and discrete events. The paper proposes a differential-algebraic-discrete (DAD) model structure which captures those interactions in a systematic way. It is shown that the model is a realization of a general hybrid system model.

A Hybrid Fuel Cell Power System

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2009
This paper proposes a hybrid fuel cell power system, which consists of a fuel cell, an isolated unidirectional converter, a bidirectional converter, an inverter, and a battery. The fuel cell and the battery are connected to the same voltage bus through an appropriate hybrid full-bridge LLC resonant unidirectional converter and a three-level buck/boost ...

Hybrid Power Systems

2020
The hybrid power systems can efficiently produce energy using an optimal combination of renewable energy generation systems, but in order to continuously sustain the required load demand, a backup energy source is necessary. The proton exchange membrane fuel cell system can be used as a non-polluting solution for the backup energy source, instead of a ...

Implementation of a Hybrid Power System Stabilizer

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1989
Dynamic stability enhancement of composite mode oscillations of interconnected power system by means of a hybrid power system stabilizer is discussed here. The proposed Hybrid PSS is of a two-level structure composed of a local PSS for local mode and a global PSS for inter-area mode damping as in Fig. 1. The input of the global stabilizer is the center

Hybrid systems modeling for power systems

IEEE Circuits and Systems Magazine, 2004
In this work a framework for modeling power systems using hybrid input/output automata (HIOA) is proposed. The system is assumed to consist of several distinct components. Some of them drive the continuous dynamics while others exhibit event-driven discrete dynamics.

A Hybrid Power System Laboratory: Testing Electric and Hybrid Propulsion

IEEE Electrification Magazine, 2019
International shipping contributes to a major portion of global emissions. This is expected to grow at a faster pace due to economic and population growth. According to the Third Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Study 2014 of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the total shipping emissions during 2007-2012 were 3.1% of global CO2 emissions, 2.8% of ...

Implementation of a power supervisory for hybrid power system

Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental Effects, 2022
During the last decades, the use of sustainable energies instead of conventional fuel has been increased due to the global anxiety on environmental and economic problems like climate changes, the limitation of traditional resources, and the increase of electricity consumption.
